The photographer could use Toshiba satellite U940 because it has an intel i5-3317u, windows 8, instant 5 on technology and up to 6 hour battery life or if they want a smartphone they could use galaxy s iii mini because it's sim free, android 4.1 operating system, FM radio and mp 3 player, 5 mp camera and it has Bluetooth. You can also us its WiFi connection to connect to the internet when your at home and then you can send it to your news desk through email. You can also find a hot spot when your about and send it via email to your desk using the phones 3G.
M2 WiFi can only be used in the house while 3g on the other hand is like WiFi everywhere meaning it provides internet access via the same radio towers that provide voice service to your mobile phone.
